The UK is set to progress with employing the total value of seized Russian holdings to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the UK, France, and Germany asserted that this unified step would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They further noted that the initiative would be executed in strong partnership with the America.

British penalties have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russia's resources since the Russian government initiated its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. But, previously, resources provided to the Ukrainian government using Russian funds had exclusively been taken from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were aligned in their goal to advance efforts toward utilizing the full value of the seized Russia's state funds to conclude the conflict.

He noted that further measures over the next period would heighten the tension on Moscow.

This statement comes after EU officials gathered in Copenhagen previously to debate employing seized Russia's assets for a 140-billion-euro loan to Ukraine.

Last month, American leader Donald Trump urged G7 allies to seize or utilize seized Russia's funds, according to media sources.

The total of seized Russia's funds in the Europe is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

President Zelensky urges Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to participate in the PURL program

The Russian government launched widespread bombardments across the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing blackouts in many areas of Ukraine's capital, the city, and multiple additional areas.

Several persons were killed and no fewer than 20 people were wounded in the attack, authorities in Ukraine stated.

In a update on social media after the attack, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike targeted non-military and power facilities.

"What's needed is not empty words but decisive action - from the US, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in supplying defense mechanisms and enforcing sanctions," he emphasized.

"All penalty impositions weakens Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky wrote, in a separate post.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to reporters he would press Sir Keir to participate in the Purl scheme, under which alliance members purchase military equipment from the America to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the Britain's strong support for Kyiv, he said it should indicate firmly that it would take part in the program, as well as enforce more restrictions on Moscow.
