At the budget last week, the correct decisions were taken for Britain, cutting the cost of energy with a £150 reduction in charges, protecting the NHS and addressing the issue of youth deprivation by eliminating the two-child cap. Measures were also taken that the revenue we raised through taxes was done equitably, with each person chipping in but those with the largest means paying what they owe.

Because of the policies implemented, the budget created a more stable economic environment, curbing inflationary pressures and state borrowing costs. This is essential for securing our public services, when a tenth of all expenditures by government goes on loan repayments.

Expanding Economic Measures

The plan reinforces the action we have already taken to boost financial conditions: directing £120bn toward new investments in such things as highways, railways and utilities; introducing significant overhaul measures in a generation to support developers, not obstructionists; advocating for the growth of Heathrow and Gatwick; and establishing trading partnerships with the EU, India and the US.

In combination, these have allowed us to surpass our economic projections.

Revitalizing Our Country

As I set out at the party conference, the government’s purpose is exactly the renewal of our economy, our communities and our state. Via these methods, we will halt deterioration and restore faith in our country.

We will take on those on the both sides who only offer dissatisfaction and whose approach would lead to additional deterioration. I want to emphasize, turning on the borrowing taps or bringing back fiscal restraint – that is the approach of deterioration and I refuse to countenance it.

An Extensive Expansion Agenda

Through remarks coming soon, I will frame the economic measures within the broader commercial rejuvenation on which the government will be judged at the end of this parliament.

For us to realize the national renewal we seek, we must do more to stimulate expansion, to address idleness among young people and to pursue closer international cooperation with our trading partners.

Bureaucracy Reduction Effort

Our development strategy will include a renewed focus on sweeping away unnecessary regulation. Frequently it was those on the left who have preferred controls, but there is nothing progressive in regulations which merely act to raise the cost of living for the poorest, to slow down economic growth unnecessarily, or hinder a reformist leadership achieving its aims.

This is the reason I am asking the business secretary to address the category of excessive additions and unnecessary red tape that raise expenditures and get in the way of our industrial strategy.

Benefits System Overhaul

Economic renewal also demands that we must continue to reform the welfare state. We took over an ineffective structure that caused youngsters to lack basic nutrition and which dismissed adolescents as unfit for labor.

We cannot tolerate either part of that failing Tory system. Hence the reason we will do more to support adolescents in reaching their abilities.

Since when individuals are overlooked in your early career, if you are denied the assistance you need to manage emotional difficulties, or if you are just discounted because you are experiencing cognitive variations or handicaps, then it can trap you in a cycle of unemployment and reliance for decades.

This imposes financial burdens, is detrimental to our output, but considerably more crucially, it eliminates prospects and ignores potential. Any reformist leadership worthy of the name must not disregard this.

That is why we have commissioned former health secretary to make implementable proposals to help young people with wellbeing challenges secure jobs, training or education – ensuring they are supported to succeed instead of excluded.

International Trade Enhancement

Ultimately, we must take further action to help our businesses engage in worldwide exchange. No plausible financial outlook for Britain that does not position us as an open, trading economy.

We have to address the reality that the botched Brexit deal significantly hurt our economy. You do not need to have a PhD in economics to know that establishing superfluous business impediments with your biggest trading partner will hinder development and boost prices.

Thus an aspect of our economic renewal will be persisting in advancing toward a stronger commercial partnership with the EU. When we can access more affordable sustenance, boost growth and create jobs by having a closer relationship with the EU, we should.

A Substantial Strategy for Significant Challenges

A budget based on fair choices for Britain must be backed up with a determination to achieve the commercial rejuvenation that the country needs.

Via executing a major, confident protracted program, not a set of short-term remedies, we will renew Britain. We need to transform once more a substantial population, with a serious government, competent jointly to perform demanding actions to retake charge of our prospects.

By having a clear mission to rejuvenate our finances, our localities and our nation, we will deliver the change we promised – and then be judged on it at the next election.
