Iranian Forces State Assault on US Base in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - reported they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," the statement continued.
It said debris landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
