Esteemed Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
US performer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic TV shows like "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles, California recently following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
