U.S. actor and playwright Jeremy O Harris, best known for the Tony-nominated production Slave Play, was detained last month at an airport in Japan on allegations involving attempting to smuggle controlled substances into the country, officials announced.

The 36-year-old was intercepted on 16 November at Naha airport, situated in Okinawa, after a customs officer discovered 0.78 grams of a crystal material laced with the designer drug MDMA in his personal bag, as stated by a customs spokesperson.
