Buffalo's Bay Day Opens Patriots Route to AFC East Lead - Best of Week 10 NFL Action

Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a major surprise for the Bills proving the 'any given Sunday' saying that draws so many people into the NFL
This outcome could have created things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they formerly held, with a remaining games that gives them an advantage over their eight and two rivals
Meanwhile in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash next week, while our top performer is pursuing milestones as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for the Bills?
Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs the previous week or something more? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a row against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and display
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's opening first down in the third period and first points in the final quarter - admittedly the Dolphins had 10 days to prepare but it was nonetheless a significant failure laid by one of the NFL's best offenses
Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdowns but running back Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two touchdowns
Containing the league's best rushing attack was crucial too, with James Cook and teammates registering just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the season and just over half their 161.5 yard average
Then there were the three crucial ball losses, and the pair from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area meaning a nine-minute possession yielded no points, and his final quarter dropped ball that Miami turned into a touchdown just later
It was typical 'old Buffalo' as they shot themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Josh Allen trying to overcompensate to dig his team from the situation - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've seen this season
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of something, but for the Bills they'll need an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against Tampa Bay next week as the New England are sneaking into a comfortable advantage at the summit of the AFC East
Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place
Speaking of the New England, they're among three different eight and two teams in the NFL, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the best?
One could find flaws in the Patriots, Denver and the Colts actually for dominating the weaker opponents, with just five of their combined 24 wins achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one example was the Indianapolis defeating the Broncos
The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the final quarter while Indy can rely on Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's win in Tampa to their prime time success in Buffalo appears to be a statement
Their pair of losses came in new head coach Vrabel's first three contests, with seven consecutive wins, similar to Denver, since then - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was significant
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he definitely earns point for bravery after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa but hanging in there to guide his side to success
The defensive unit is reliable and rookie rusher TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different ball carrier to break 22mph this season on his first score
Although you can debate who 'the best' is statistically, the Pats should be favourites to end with the top record due to their schedule - which includes just one game against a winning team, although a huge one against the Bills
Visiting Baltimore is challenging too, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West with the Chiefs to play twice, the Los Angeles Chargers (who could also challenge for first place but face the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the schedule
The Colts also face the Chiefs, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the five and four Jaguars to contend with. There is a considerable distance to travel but the opportunity is available for a shock top seed in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Rams & Seahawks Set for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with solid claims to be superior to all of the three different eight and two teams are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who each scored forty points to reach 7-2 before next week's major meeting between the pair in LA
They've both won four in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with top receivers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a game
Both could easily be without a loss as well - especially the Los Angeles as their two defeats occurred in extra time against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning field goal with the last kick blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a score
Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before falling to the last kick of the game against the Tampa Bay - so they are genuinely among the top teams in the NFL
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the year to date
Player of the Week - Taylor
Taylor could be on for a record season after his incredible display in Germany - rushing for 244 yards, registering three scores and adding another forty-two {receiving yards
